Berkeley Insurance Group

Berkeley’s customers range from your average householder buying home insurance to national hotel chains… and everything in between.

Berkeley approached us to create a corporate brochure after seeing our work for Leicester Cathedral. They wanted to promote their portfolio of insurance products and services to a wider customer base.

Although they had a logo they were happy with, they knew their visual identity just wasn’t working for them. They were not sure how, but they knew they needed to look more accessible.

We worked closely with the Chief Executive and Marketing Manager at Berkeley to craft a new visual identity that reflected the individual, independent nature of their business. One that said high quality without feeling exclusive.

We recommended a new brand structure, a simplified colour palette, a bespoke graphic pattern, new fonts, straplines and photography styles.

We applied this style to the brochure using their new grey and gold colour palette and we recommended an uncoated paper to create a premium look and feel for the brochure. This was combined with informal lifestyle photography of every-day people engaged in every-day activities – images that everyone could identify with.

The success of the brochure has led to a further project to revamp Berkeley’s website. Watch this space…

“We have worked with a number of agencies over the years, but the great thing about Work Design is that they really do deliver to the standard of their initial proposals. Perhaps their biggest achievement is their ability to quickly understand and interpret a brief, and deliver a fantastic result.”

Lisa Glover, Group Marketing Manager.
